Police in Wichita, Kan., could not ask Dennis Rader for a DNA sample in order to confirm he was a murderer known as BTK. During the interview with Dennis Rader the FBI asked Dennis, "Would you be surprised to know that the father of your daughter is BTK?" "There was a stunning silence," Agent Foulston says. "The FBI agent said, 'Tell us who you are.' And he said, “I'm BTK. You got me.'"

Back to Ted Bundy: Most compelling for me are the dates of publicity, book releases and movie releases about Ted Bundy in relation to the crimes of The Original Night Stalker. Consider this: On August 17, 1980 the book The Stranger Beside Me was published by Ann Rule about Ted Bundy and his crimes. In particular chapter 29 which talks about the Chi Omega murders in Tallahassee Florida. Keith and Patrice Harrington were murdered on August 19, 1980. I think that by this time ONS was reading any news he could about Ted Bundy. In reports about the crimes at Florida State University Ann Rule talks about the crime: “In the Chi O house itself, room 4, 8 and 9 were littered with the debris left by both the killer and the paramedics, the walls sprayed with droplets of scarlet, the floors and beds full of blood and bits of bark from the death weapon. One of the Officers found a pile of oak logs in the back yard of the sorority house. It appeared that the killer had picked up his weapon on the way in.”

News articles about the Chi Omega murders in Florida appeared in newspapers across the country. Is it a coincidence that it was written in articles from reports that a pile of oak logs was in the back of the sorority house and that the killer had picked up his weapon on the way in using a log to bludgeon young women to death and that in the Smith murders the exact same thing occurred? ONS scoped out the house, planned his attacks of the Smith’s and then how perfect that the log pile was just outside the master bedroom? Descriptions of some of the murders committed by ONS are very much like what occurred in the murders committed by Ted Bundy. And then also in Chapter 29 of Ann’s book the description of how he left one of the victims that he had bludgeoned to death Ann says, “The man who attacked Lisa Levy as she had lain asleep had struck her, strangled her, torn at her like a rabid animal, and then ravished her with a bottle. And then, apparently, he had covered her up and left her lying quietly on her side, the covers pulled up almost tenderly around her shoulders. ”

In her descriptions of the scenes Ann tells about the horrific injuries suffered by these several young women. Broken Jaws, teeth knocked out, facial bone fractures and cuts. When this story broke it was front page news in the Sacramento Bee and probably all over the country.
